Wolcott Village Connectivity and Community Greenspace Enhancement Project

Wolcott, Lamoille County, VT

The Town of Wolcott is a small, rural community in Lamoille County. The Town has several assets including Town Forest, Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (LVRT), greenspaces, community gathering space, and a community garden. Some of these town assets are bisected by the Lamoille River. New infrastructure projects such as a new bridge with a sidewalk will be completed within the next two years providing better access to the village. Public spaces near the Lamoille River and LVRT can benefit from thoughtfully planned bike and pedestrian pathways/infrastructure to connect them.

Project Goals Statement:

This project will help foster collaboration among local boards and community groups while considering connectivity, accessibility, and opportunities to enhance community greenspace in Wolcott Village. Efforts will create a community-led placemaking vision to enhance connectivity and accessibility of town-centralized public gathering spaces and green infrastructure in the village of Wolcott.
